It’s only 30 minutes away, and you can take the scenic route along the coast to get there. We tend to only visit to pay taxes, register the car and catch the ferry to England.
St Malo is really 3 towns, which have merged together. The heart is the Intramuros, which was flattened by the Allies during WWII, but rebuilt in the style of the 1700’s. To the south, Saint Servan is a lovely old fishing town. To the north is Parame, which is essentially a new town. Beyond Parame, you’ll find the rock sculptures at Rotheneuf.
