The abbey at Mont St Michel is always closed on January 1st, May 1st and December 25th.

31st May – Mont St Michel Marathon. It’s quite an event and we are already almost full. Not a day to visit the Abbey unless you like running.

6th June – Concert in the Abbey at 8.30pm – CONCERTOS POUR 12 CORDES

During July and August there are concerts at the cathedral in Dol de Bretagne

11th July – 29th August– The abbey at Mont St Michel stays open until midnight. It is very atmospheric to visit in the evening. It is less crowded and there is often music playing in the abbey. At other times of the year it is possible to visit the island at any time, but the Abbey will be closed at night time.

14th July – Bastille Day, with the best fireworks at St Malo.

22nd – 26th July – Festival ‘Entre Mer et Ciel’ at Mont St Michel

22nd July – Fête de la Bretagne à Dol

26th July – Fête de l’Oie at Sougeal, Fête d’Ail at Cherrieux, Fête de moules at Vivier sur Mer plus Fête folklorique at Dol-de-Bretagne

2nd August – The Pardon des Moutons, which is a huge barbecue and celebration of the harvesting of the salt marsh lambs, a local delicacy. Head to the polders with a carving knife and some plates and enjoy a lamb fest!

9th August – Le Moulin en Fête at Mont-Dol

20th August – Fête de la Bretagne à Dol de Bretagne

31st August – Mont St Michel Observation of the rising tide in the abbey, visible 1.45 hour before the high tide. Opening time of the abbey till 10.00pm (last entrance at 9.00pm).

5th September – Concert in the Abbey at 8.30pm – SPIRITUAL CONCERT

4th October – Concert in the Abbey at 6.00pm – REQUIEM DE MOZART
